Woman found dead inside Newport News home; man wanted in connection with homicide

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Police are asking for the public's help finding a man wanted in connection with a domestic-related homicide that happened in early January.

Around 1 a.m., Newport News police responded to the 1100 block of Old Denbigh Boulevard in reference to an unresponsive person.

Officers found a female who was later identified as 49-year-old Sammy Lee Pair with injuries and deceased inside a residence.

After further investigation, the death was determined to be a homicide, according to police.

On February 8, police announced they're looking for 39-year-old Tyrone Lamont Pair Sr. in connection with Sammy's death.

Tyrone, who has a last known address in the 1100 block of Old Denbigh Boulevard, is wanted on one count of second-degree murder and three counts violation of a protective order.

After further investigation, police determined Sammy's death to be domestic-related.
