WINDSOR, Va. - A woman was injured in a crash while trying to assist a disabled vehicle Wednesday afternoon.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:31 p.m. on Route 460, east of Stave Mill Road and west of Windsor.

According to the Virginia State Police, a Chevrolet truck pulling a trailer became disabled, blocking the right lane. Two good Samaritans stopped to assist the driver, with both people outside of the vehicle and in the roadway.

A Chrysler Town and Country approached the disabled vehicle in traffic and had to abruptly slow and swerve off the roadway into a driveway to avoid a collision. Samantha Been, one of the good Samaritans, attempted to avoid the vehicle collision and ran into the path of the Town and Country. She was struck in the gravel driveway.

Samantha Been was airlifted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
