NORFOLK, Va. - With unemployment rates so high and many businesses closed, finding a job right now is tough.

That’s why the Hampton Roads Workforce Council is holding a series of virtual workshops for people looking for jobs.

The online sessions are for people of any age, including teens.

They focus on things like resume building, job searching strategies and interviewing techniques.

Since they’re live workshops held using Zoom, you have the chance to interact and ask questions.

"What’s really critical is that these are offered virtually, which is also how our hiring has changed within our region, within our state, within our country," said Christina Brooks, Senior Director of Youth Services at the Hampton Roads Workforce Council. "A lot of companies have moved to this online format of virtual applications and virtual interviews, so being able to practice doing this virtual job search before getting in front of the actual employer is so, so important.”
