NORFOLK, Va. - The 2020 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference also known as the MEAC Basketball Tournament will go on as scheduled, but there will be some changes.

Thursday’s games – first and second session - will go on as normal, but in a statement sent out to News 3 from the MEAC Basketball Tournament, we are learning that Friday and Saturday’s games will see restricted attendance.

This means fans can’t go watch and cheer on their team.

The statement says for Friday and Saturday’s semifinal and championship rounds – “Attendance will be restricted to players, coaches, officials, event staff, essential institutional staff, conference staff, credentialed media and student-athlete guests. This is based on the current climate surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19).”

If you already bought tickets, the MEAC statement says you’ll have to contact the Scope arena and talk to them about refunds.
