Meteorologist April Loveland's First Warning Forecast

Skies will be clear overnight, which means a cold night ahead. A Frost Advisory is in effect for Northampton, Hertford, Gates, Pasquotank, Camden, Bertie, Chowan, Perquimans, Sussex, Southampton, Isle of Wight, Suffolk and Chesapeake from 2 AM until 8 AM Thursday. Temperatures in the low to mid 30s combined with light winds will result in frost formation. Frost could kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if left uncovered. Make sure you cover your plants!

After a frosty start Thursday, temperatures will be on the cold side for April with highs only in the low 60s. Expect plenty of sunshine throughout the day. It will be on the breezy side with winds out of the northwest at 10-15 mph. Temperatures will be even colder overnight with lows in the 30s. We may even have to deal with frost again and potentially a freeze.

Another cold start to the day Friday, but temperatures will rebound nicely. Expect highs near 70 under a mix of sun and clouds. Our next system moves in late Friday with a chance of showers. Better chances on Saturday. Showers are likely on Saturday with highs in the mid 60s.

Sunday is shaping up to be the pick of the weekend. Skies will be partly sunny with highs in the mid and upper 60s. An area of low pressure will approach as the day progresses. Rain chances will increase late and into the day on Monday.
