Meteorologist April Loveland's First Warning Forecast

Flood Warning in effect for Isle of Wight and Surry County until 8:00 AM Monday.

Mist and drizzle overnight with some fog possible. Temperatures will cool to the upper 60s to near 70.

Clouds and fog to start the day Monday. Some sunshine will break out by midday, with a slight chance for a shower or storm by the afternoon as weak cold front slides across the area. Highs in the low and mid 80s.

Mostly dry heading into Tuesday with highs in the upper 80s under partly cloudy skies.

By midweek, afternoon showers and storms will return to the region. Highs warm to the upper 80s.

Shower and storm chances will go down a bit for the weekend, but temperatures will be on the rise. Expect highs in the los 90s.

Tropical Update:

A fast-moving tropical wave located about 500 miles east of the Windward Islands is expected to move westward at about 20 mph during the next few days, and that fast forward speed is likely to limit significant development while the system approaches the Windward and southern Leeward Islands on Monday, and moves across the eastern Caribbean Sea on Tuesday. After that time, however, the system is expected to move more slowly westward across the central and western Caribbean Sea, where upper-level winds could become more conducive for the development of a tropical depression during the middle-to-latter part of this week.

* Formation chance through 2 days LOW (20%)
* Formation chance through 5 days: MEDIUM (50%)

Another tropical wave located over the far eastern tropical Atlantic well to the southeast of the Cabo Verde Islands is forecast to move westward at 15 to 20 mph during the next few days, and environmental conditions are expected to become more conducive for the development of a tropical depression mid-to-late week while the system moves across the central tropical Atlantic.

* Formation chance through 2 days: LOW (0%)
* Formation chance through 5 days: MEDIUM (50%)
