First Warning Forecast: Finishing the week with showers and storms

You'll need your umbrella this afternoon and evening. Rain chances are on the rise once again after a cloudy but dry start this morning.

Rain will cover more ground this afternoon and evening ahead of a wet Friday morning. Wet, windy and cool once again today with an east wind of near 15 mph and gusts at times near 25 to 30 mph.

Rain chances will peak early Friday morning as the area of disturbed weather passes over our region. Plan on a wet commute to kick off the last day of the work week for many of you. The slow moving system will increase the risk for strong-to-severe storms. One or two storms may produce damaging wind gusts and possibly hail Friday afternoon and evening. Meanwhile, warmer temperatures will briefly return Friday with highs near 80.

Memorial Day Weekend looks great with plenty of sunshine and warmer temperatures just time for any outdoor plans. Upper 70s Saturday with scattered showers and storms possible. Expect more dry time for Sunday and Monday with only isolated rain both days, which translates to more sunshine and highs near 72.
