Meteorologist Tony Nargi's First Warning Forecast
This evening, severe storms will remain possible in Dare County, particularly south of the Oregon Inlet. Storms will fade after 9 PM, with clear skies emerging after midnight. Everywhere else dry conditions are expected with mostly clear skies and lows in the 60s inland and low 70s along the coast.
Tomorrow will be excellent, with low humidity levels and mostly sunny skies. High temperatures will reach the low to mid 80s, with light winds out of the NE at 5-10 mph. No rain is expected, with dry conditions lasting into the overnight hours. Lows will drop into the 60s overnight, with some upper 50s possible well inland.
Wednesday will continue our streak of low humidity levels, with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies expected along with high temperatures in the mid 80s. We'll see winds out of the S at 10-15 mph, with gusts up to 20 mph. Thursday will feature a return of the humidity, with dew points climbing back into the 70s. High temperatures will jump into the upper 80s Thursday, with scattered thunderstorms possible during the afternoon and evening. Flash flooding will be a risk again Thursday through Friday, with heavy rain likely where storms develop.
The end of this week looks a bit unsettled, with a front passing through the area Friday and into Saturday. This will trigger some more scattered storms, likely winding down by Sunday.
TROPICS:
An area of interest east of Bermuda poses no threat to develop but has been increased to a 50% chance of development. The area we're watching off the west coast of Africa has a 60% chance of development, and this area will be one we closely monitor over the next week. Currently modeling does not seem to support this system moving towards the United States once it gets over the Central Atlantic but rather keeping it out at sea. However it is still very on in the forecasting process, and tropical systems can be extra fickle, so stay tuned for updates!
