Meteorologist Tony Nargi's First Warning Forecast

Today will feature on and off showers during the morning followed by occasional thunderstorms during the afternoon. Highs will reach the mid to upper 80s, with winds out of the S at 5-10 mph. Storms will clear out before sunset, with drier conditions settling overnight. Rainfall totals will vary between 0.25" and 0.5", with up to an inch of rain possible on the Outer Banks.

Tomorrow will be much nicer for outdoor activities, with partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies along with high temperatures in the upper 80s. Winds will be light out of the W at 5-10 mph.

Back to school will start off with great weather, with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies expected Monday and Tuesday along with dry conditions. High temperatures will be near normal in the mid 80s, along with light winds expected.

On Wednesday next week storm chances return, with umbrellas needed for Thursday as widespread showers and storms enter the region.

TROPICS:

There are a few areas of potential development in the Atlantic. The area east of Bermuda and off the coast of Portugal pose no threat to us, however we'll be monitoring the area over the Main Development Region of the Atlantic that now has a 30% chance of development.
