Portsmouth, Va. - One school in Portsmouth is closing its doors Friday in order to clean and disinfect the building.
Officials with Portsmouth Catholic Regional School say that over 20 cases of the flu have been confirmed just this week.
To be safe and after consulting the School Nurse and Superintendent, PCRS has decided to close the school and extended care to maintain the building.
The school's principal Scott Bolton stated on Facebook that, "This is something we take very seriously as your child's safety is paramount in all that we do. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused."
