Man convicted, sentenced in Coliseum Crossing homicide

UPDATE: Brandon Lee-Davis Berkley was tried and convicted for the murder of Brieanna Bell. He was found guilty on November 13th, 2015 and has been sentenced to 40 years in the state penitentiary. 

Hampton Police say they have arrested a 26-year-old Newport News man for Friday's homicide at Coliseum Crossing in Hampton.

The call came into Hampton Police regarding the shooting in the first block of Coliseum Crossing around 12:56 p.m.

Police say the victim, 20-year-old Brieanna Bell, was in a vehicle with several others when an argument broke out.

Shots were fired and Bell was struck in the upper torso. Members of the Hampton Fire and Rescue division pronounced her deceased on the scene.

Police have arrested 26-year-old Brandon Lee-Davis Berkley and charged him with one count of homicide and one count of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
