Military families who were separated during the holidays because of deployments got a second chance at Christmas Thursday.

Ocean Breeze Water Park, the USO and The Eagle 97.3 teamed up for the seventh annual "The Christmas that you Missed." Active duty military families were given free admission to the park. Santa Claus, Christmas music and decorations made the steamy water park feel a little more like a chilly Christmas day.

"It feels really good to be able to celebrate at least one holiday that we didn't get together," said Kara Hain, whose husband was stationed in Afghanistan during Christmas 2012.

"Doing this, it's good," said Matt Hain.

"It's all about your family and if you're not home with your family, if you're out on a ship some place or a base who knows where, you're missing out.  So if you can replicate it in a place like this on a day like this, why not?" said Mark McKay with The Eagle 97.3.

The event usually draws hundreds of military families each year.
