NewsChannel 3’s Kurt Williams went out to Poquoson Primary to surprise a very special employee there.

We went into the cafeteria to recognize the school’s custodian, Nikki Toliver Robinson.

She has touched many lives. She has been described as very nice and helpful, and she always tries to help when she can.

To the folks who know her best, she is more than a custodian. She tells us she does everything she can to make each child feel special. Ms. Nikki has been doing this for 16 years.

“Well I tell you, the youth today, they have so much on their plates,” says Nikki. “It’s important to love children and it's important for children to know they are loved.”

Her friends there wanted NewsChannel 3 to honor her.

We received an email about Ms. Nikki.

“Miss Nikki is always smiling. She gets to know all the children she comes across and remembers them for years after.”

For her hard work and dedication, we presented Ms. Nikki with a People Taking Action Award, a People Taking Action pin and a $300 Visa Gift Card from our community partner Southern Bank.
