Crime Line seeking nominations for 2016 Top Cop Awards

Posted

The Greater Hampton Roads Regional Crime Lines is now taking nominations for its annual Top Cop Awards.

It is an opportunity to recognize police officers, corporations, organizations and citizens who have contributed to making our communities safer.

Anyone can submit a nomination in any of the categories.

Nominations will be accepted no later than August 1, 2016.  The annual awards dinner and banquet will then be held in Portsmouth in October.

Along with honoring “Top Cops,” the event also serves as a fundraiser for Crime Line.  Crime Line is funded entirely by private donations from citizens and businesses.

Volunteer citizen boards administer the program, raise funds and pay rewards to “tipsters.”

The primary goal of Crime Line is to generate calls from citizens to solve crimes.  People can submit tips by calling 1-888-LOCK-U-UPSM.
