Clean sweeps on the First Warning radar this afternoon thanks to a high pressure system. Sunshine today with a few clouds mixing in. Highs in the upper 70s to low 80s. Still a bit breezy near the coast. Lighter winds inland. There is a moderate risk for rip currents today due to the persistent northeasterly winds. Exercise caution while swimming.

A Coastal Flood Statement has been issued through this evening for locations along the tidal James River. River levels will remain elevated through this evening. Inundation of water in and near low-lying coastal areas could lead to localized road closures and minor flooding.

Tonight will feature clear to partly cloudy skies with lows in the mid to upper 60s. Winds will begin to ease after midnight. Patchy fog is possible tonight and early tomorrow morning.

Monday will be mostly dry and warmer with highs in the mid 80s. Chance for showers and storms late.

Unsettled weather pattern will exist Tuesday through Saturday, which means rain and storm chances.
