SUFFOLK, Va — The 16th annual Taste of Suffolk Downtown Street Festival brought more than 20 of the city's restaurants to Main Street on Saturday.

The festival ran from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. in historic Downtown Suffolk.

The idea is for local eateries to offer smaller portions at nominal prices allowing attendees to sample an assortment of culinary creations.

“We’ve been waiting all year for this because this is the one time of year where we get to come out and showcase what we do every single day for people who’ve never heard of us," said Tonya Batten, Co-Owner of Ryan's Steaks and Cakes.

Merchants also had the opportunity to sell a variety of goods and services and Suffolk’s automotive dealerships presented a New Vehicle Exhibition.

Festival goers were treated to all-day entertainment with live music and contests, a plant sale from the Suffolk Master Gardeners, plus a children’s fun area.

In addition, the Taste of Suffolk showcased its Beer Garden, displaying local craft brews until 8 p.m. at the Courthouse Fountain Park.

The Festival Music Schedule includes:
Beer Garden Entertainment (Courthouse Fountain Park)

  • 12:30 p.m. - Rob Oliver
  • 4:30 p.m. - On The Verge

Main Street Stage

  • 11:00 a.m. - Bobby Blackhat
  • 1:00 p.m. - Black & Gold Music
