VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - You've probably seen reminders to register to vote all over your social media. Now you'll see it on the sidewalk.

On Sunday, people in Virginia Beach wrote message about voting on the sidewalk in the chalk.

VA for the People, hosted a chalk-the-vote event Saturday morning on 19th street and Cypress Avenue around the old beach markets.

The organization says their goal is to unite the community and encourage people to register to vote.

"A young local artist named Cecilia is here leading Chalk The Vote, and that is a national movement that we're picking up on in Virginia Beach, where people are encouraged to write and chalk on the sidewalk about why they're voting this year, and what's important to them in this election. Tuesday is the last day for people to register to vote, and we want everyone to participate," Kate Kate Pittman Executive Director, Vibe Creative District said.

The last day to register to vote is Tuesday, October 13.
