SMITHFIELD, Va. - Some "egg-citing" news is coming out of Smithfield!

The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, Missouri, saw some penguin visitors earlier this week, and while Smithfield doesn't have any penguins, the folks at the Isle of Wight County Museum do know some chickens.

On Wednesday, a hen and a rooster paid the local museum a visit on what they call a "chicken date."

The birds loved exploring the exhibits, but they were partial to the country store and the exhibits recounting the older history of Isle of Wight County.

The birds were courtesy of Cheryl Ketcham, the owner of Finley's General Store in Carrollton.
