VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - One local high school is teaming up with a community organization to make sure families in our area have a nice Thanksgiving holiday.

Staff members at Princess Anne High School in Virginia Beach teamed up with members of the Urban League Thursday morning to assemble Thanksgiving gift baskets.

The baskets will be given out to local families in need this holiday season and will be delivered this weekend.

For those involved in the project, they say the baskets are an important way to help others.

"A lot of the things we sometimes take for granted, other families may not have those same opportunities. I’m just glad to be able to give those families a nice Thanksgiving dinner,” said volunteer Angelie Figueroa, who works in the Princess Anne High office.

In all, the volunteers assembled more than 300 gift baskets to help everyone have a good Thanksgiving.
