Man taken to hospital after shooting in Virginia Beach, marking the third shooting reported by police in Hampton Roads on Thursday

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - A man was injured in a shooting in the 3900 block of Sailboat Landing Thursday morning.

According to police, at 11:27 a.m., dispatch received a call for a gunshot wound on Sailboat Landing. When officers arrived on scene, they located a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

The man was taken to a local hospital with what is believed to be a non-life-threatening injury.

This scene is still active while detectives are investigating this case. One person has been detained at this time, and there is no threat to the public.

This marks the third shooting reported from police in Virginia Beach on Thursday. A different shooting took place Thursday morning, where a man was shot multiple times while driving on I-264 in Virginia Beach.

Another shooting took place near Virginia Wesleyan University where a shooter was detained.

The case in the 3900 block of Sailboat Landing remains under investigation by members of the department's detective bureau.
