Time is ticking to get your loved one's Valentine's Day bouquet ordered.
Local flower shops, like Eclectic Design Florist and Gifts, say they're working overtime to fill the influx of orders ahead of the holiday.
Owner Maria Pappas says there's still time to place an order, but the later you go on Valentine's Day, it can get challenging.
“We’ll be delivering throughout Valentine’s Day so as long as you’re a little flexible, it's not too late. We have tons of flowers, we have all kinds of things to offer, at all different price points. If you have a budget, let us know. Don’t be shy about it. We’re happy to help," she said.
Once you bring your flowers home, there are a few things you can do to keep them alive longer.
It's best to change the water every two days and cut the flowers at an angle near the bottom of the stem for them to last twice as long. Also keep them from heat sources, Pappas says.
