HAMPTON ROADS, VA-- Senior dogs have an adoption rate of only about 25%, compared to a 60% adoption rate for puppies, according to the ASPCA. The same goes for senior cats. Overall, seniors and other animals in shelters that become long-time boarders at area SPCA’s are waiting for their fur-ever homes.
We met one such dog, Buckeye, and spoke with worker Kirstin Dale about some of the animals waiting for homes.
