HAMPTON ROADS, VA—The Grammy Award-winning producer Teddy Riley returned to the 757 today and spoke with Coast Live Exclusively.
The creator of The New Jack Swing, a 90s music style, has returned to plant seeds in Hampton Roads by establishing The Teddy Riley Performing Arts Academy.
During his time in Virginia, Riley recorded hits such as Michael Jackson's "Remember the Time," Bobby Brown's "My Prerogative," and award-winning tracks from his group, Blackstreet. He also inspired fellow creatives in Virginia, like music and fashion guru Pharrell.
The Harlem-born hit-making producer penned his memoir, "Remember The Times," in March, about his life and times with Michael Jackson.
