First babies born in 2026: Local hospitals deliver New Year's Day newborns

While celebrations took place across Hampton Roads for the new year, hospitals were busy helping deliver newborns on the first day of 2026.

Kenlee Johnson — born at 12:11 a.m.

Britny and Kenneth Johnson's baby girl was born at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital in Virginia Beach. Johnson weighed seven pounds two ounces.

Ellie — born at 1:08 a.m.

Ellie was the first baby born at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center in 2026. She weighed seven pounds and just over two ounces.

Eliana Andrea Lopez Chavez — born at 6:21 a.m.

Eliana was the first baby Riverside delivered in 2026. She weighed six pounds and eight ounces.
