NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — A new convention is set to take place in the peninsula this spring, with musicians, YouTubers, and entrepreneurs being invited to the event.
NOODLE — The Thinkers Convention will be held on May 22 and 23. The goal of this event is to highlight "global talent in tech, entertainment, and business." This event will feature speakers and musical performances at Victory Landing Park and The Yard District.
Tickets for the NOODLE convention will go on sale on March 12 at 10 a.m.
Chance The Rapper, Daymond John, Aloe Blacc, CeeLo Green, David Eagleman, Rhett & Link, Dr. Tasha Golden, and Aisha Bowe are among the figures set to appear at this event.
“Of course I am excited about the music, but I’m really looking forward to speakers like Aisha Bowe, a Black female rocket scientist who went to space in 2025; Daymond John who has dispensed business wisdom on Shark Tank for years; Megan Henshall, Founder of Google XI, who is on the forefront of design, human needs, and the future of work; and Daanish Masood, who built AI for UN peace operations and now builds systems that help data centers waste less energy. Having these types of experts spending time with our community solidifies the effort we’re making to put Newport News in a leadership position now and in the future,” Mayor Philip Jones said.
