CHESAPEAKE, Va. — One person is dead and two people were injured in a shooting on Edinburg Avenue on Monday night, according to police.
Around 5:35 p.m., Chesapeake police arrived at the Second Precinct after an injured person was transported there. Officers and medics gave initial treatment before the person was taken to a local hospital, according to police.
Officers also got more information about another injured person at the 600 block of Edinburg Avenue, CPD said. The victim — 25-year-old Tylik Sessoms — was pronounced dead at the scene.
A third victim arrived at a local hospital with gunshot wounds that officers believe to be related to this incident, according to CPD.
Chesapeake police say they believe all three gunshot victims are related to the incident on Edinberg Avenue, but they do not yet know how.
This incident is under investigation.
