ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. — A man died after being found shot on Sunday, Elizabeth City police said Monday.
Around 4:30 a.m., officers responded to the 900 Block of Hunter Street. 44-year-old Darren Jernigan was found shot at the scene, according to Elizabeth City police. He would later be pronounced dead after emergency response efforts.
This investigation remains ongoing, according to the Elizabeth City Police Department.
