PORTSMOUTH, Va. — Friday night’s IC Norcom football game against visiting Churchland ended abruptly as apparent gunshots rang out near the football field in Portsmouth.

Video captured by WTKR News 3 at the scene showed players running off the field and more than 100 spectators running off in various directions.

Portsmouth police investigate reports of shots fired near IC Norcom

Portsmouth police confirmed they are investigating reports of a shooting nearby, but stressed it was not at the football game. They also say no injuries were reported.

There was less than a minute left in the game when the play was disrupted and players ran off the field. The game was not completed after that point; however, WTKR's sports score provider ScoreStream reports a final score of 11-10 in favor of IC Norcom.
