SUFFOLK, Va. — A "suspicious vehicle" at Hillpoint Elementary prompted students and staff to be relocated Friday morning, Suffolk police said around 9:20 a.m.
At the school, law enforcement officers, including from the FBI, appeared to have their attention on a silver SUV in the school parking lot.

As of Friday afternoon, police had not said if the SUV was the suspicious vehicle or why a vehicle was determined to be suspicious.
Students and staff were moved to Kings Fork Middle School while officers investigated the area, according to Suffolk police.
Erin Goff lives near the elementary school. While she doesn't have kids at the school anymore, she was concerned.

“I know quite a few people in the neighborhood have kids at the school. I can imagine that they’re concerned and figuring out how they’re going to pick up their students. I can imagine being in their scenario, how stressed out and panicked I would b, probably," Goff said.
The all clear alert was issued around 10:30 a.m. In a news release just after 1 p.m., Suffolk police said, in part, "there was nothing found that would be of a threat to the public."
In a statement, Suffolk Public Schools' superintendent thanked everyone involved for working together and thanked Suffolk Public Schools families for their patience and understanding.
