Man arrested, charged after 20-year-old woman dies in Norfolk shooting

NORFOLK, Va. — Norfolk detectives have charged a man in connection with a shooting on E. Princess Anne Road that left a 20-year-old woman dead earlier this week.

On January 11 around 2:40 a.m., police responded to the 2800 block of E. Princess Anne Road for a report of a gunshot victim. When officers arrived, they found Shakiya N. Johnson of Virginia Beach suffering from a gunshot wound in an SUV that had crashed into a pole.

Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives have arrested and charged 21-year-old Rayvone D. Foster with murder, use of a firearm, conspiracy and gang participation.

The motive and circumstances surrounding this incident have not been released.
