Jay Greene joined the WTKR News 3 team in August 2023 as a Multimedia Journalist and Norfolk Neighborhood News Reporter. You can also catch him anchoring the weekend evening newscasts.
Jay first came to News 3 as a Digital Content Producer in September 2022 before moving into his current reporting role.
Before making Hampton Roads his home, Jay worked as a reporter, anchor, and producer at KKCO/KJCT in Grand Junction, Colorado, and KCRG-TV9 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. During his time in the Midwest, he covered several high-profile stories — including the trial of Christhian Bahena Rivera, who was found guilty in the death of University of Iowa student Mollie Tibbetts, and the devastating 2020 derecho that caused billions of dollars in damage across eastern Iowa.
A native of the Baltimore area, Jay graduated from Towson University in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, concentrating in Journalism and New Media.
Jay now calls Norfolk’s historic Ghent neighborhood home. When he’s not in the newsroom, he enjoys working out, experimenting with new recipes, exploring local hiking trails, and searching for the next great cup of coffee — recommendations are always welcome!
