Update, Jan. 23, 3:30 p.m.: Rakeem Turner, 29, of Williamsburg was arrested and charged with malicious wounding, use of a firearm, and use of a firearm by a convicted felon.

A man is in the hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries after being found shot at the Food Lion in Richneck Shopping Center in Newport News, police said.

Police confirmed the victim was found at the Food Lion in the 12900 block of Jefferson Avenue.

Officers responded to the incident around 8:58 p.m. and the incident is currently under investigation.

There is no suspect information at this time.
