VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A North Carolina man who crashed into a culvert on Indian River Road Saturday morning has died, Virginia Beach police said Tuesday.
Samuel Sandler, 58, of Kill Devil Hills, was driving eastbound around 4 a.m. when he drifted off the road and struck the culvert. A culvert is a water drainage structure typically found under a roadway.
Sandler was taken to the hospital where he died on Monday, police say.
