NORFOLK, Va. — Norfolk Police say a 17-year-old is facing multiple charges a day after two teens were shot on Johnson Ave. near the Huntersville Community Center.
As of December 25, police had not identified the 17-year-old suspect.
Police said they are charged with malicious wounding, possession of a firearm by a juvenile, use of a firearm, and shooting in the commission of a felony.

A news release from police also does not identify the teen as one of the two people shot but does say a 17 and 18-year-old were shot. The release goes on to say both victims were taken to the hospital and "Once [the 17-year-old] is released from the hospital, he will be held in Norfolk Detention Center."
News 3 has reached out to police to clarify if the 17-year-old charged is also the 17-year-old shot.

As News 3 has reported, Norfolk police responded to Johnson Ave. near the Huntersville Community Center a little after 5 p.m. Christmas Eve for a report of a shooting.
As of December 25, the shooting remained under investigation.
